Over the Years

So today is our 6 year anniversary. I did a little formula for Cor about our anniversary but apparently it doesn't work, but I'll let you all know what it is.

1 wedding + 2 pets + 3 kids + 4 moves + 5 cars = 6 years of marriage. :)

I thought it was creative... know i know 1+2+3+4+5 does not equal 6. I know it equals 15. I just didn't want all of you to think that I was that dumb. :)

Anyway... here are some pics of us over the past 6 years.

What's in a Birthday?

So what's the big deal with birthday's? I mean it's just the day you were born. Big deal. So you're one year older. Whatever... I still feel like I'm 18 sometimes. It's not like you look older on this day automatically. You age over the many days that pass. To some people I look 24, to others I'm apparently in my mid thirties with my blond hair. Whatever. It's just a day like any other day. Right?

I keep telling myself this cause I spent my birthday in a lot of pain, sick as a dog, and unconscious. Not exactly the way I wanted to spend my birthday. Oh, was perfectly fine the day after and since. You wouldn't know that I was on my death bed Monday, cause the rest of the week I've been fine, but that is not when my birthday is. Monday was. I didn't get to do anything I wanted to do. I wanted to go to Disneyland and get in free. Didn't happen. Instead I daydreamed while in fetal position that I was there. I wanted to get food from my favorite fast food place and eat it and enjoy it. Didn't happen. Instead I puked my guts out in the toilet. Blah! I HATE throwing up. I wanted to play with my kids. Didn't happen. Instead I was asleep for more than half the day! I wanted to eat the cake my husband and kids made for me. Didn't happen. Instead I laid in bed with a migraine unable to move.

I for some reason make a HUGE deal about birthday's. I feel like I totally got ripped off!! To me a birthday is your day. You get to do what you want. Celebrate it the way you want. Eat what you want. It's your day and you get it your way. Yesterday I was totally proven WRONG! I also learned yet again... Life is not fair! :P I mean come ON! 365 days of the year and I have to be sick on MY DAY!!!

However, I did realized how blessed I really am. Besides Monday, I have my health. I have the best husband who came home half way through the day to take care of me and the boys, and loves me even when I irritate him. :) I have the cutest little boys who make everyday interesting and fun, and love me even though I'm flawed. I have wonderful friends and family who remembered my birthday and wish that I had a great day, even though it was one of the worst. Oh well that's what is nice about birthday's... they come around every year. So I guess there's always next year. :)

Lighter

I've been wanting a change for my look for a while now. I've always wanted to go blonde but have been too scared to try. Cory has been trying to tell me to try something a little bit different with my hair and maybe just add highlights to my color. Well I got adventurous the other day and when I went and got my hair done I asked for highlights. So the lady is washing the dye out of my hair and kind of gasps... which totally freaked me out! I of course start to thing the worst case possible... My hair fell out and I'm bald now. She reassured me that my hair was still on my head but it went a little bit lighter than I wanted.
I started to breathe again and thought, "okay so a little bit lighter would be okay. No big deal." She put the towel on my hair to dry it off and spun the chair around to face the mirror so I could see what it looked like. All I saw was blonde. I was totally speechless and those of you who know me... that's hard to do. She told me that the color would be even lighter as it dried. I almost started to panic, this was one of my fears, to be blonde and look really stupid. So she continued to dry and style my hair and the more I saw it I liked it.
I was a little bit worried about what Cory and the boys would think of it though. Cory really seems to like it, Jovin and Pierce didn't really have a problem, but Mayer wouldn't come to me at first. Cory says it was because he was groggy, but I think it was the hair.
I'm still not used to being so blonde. Whenever I go by a mirror and catch a glimpse of myself I have to do a double take cause it is so different. I LOVE it though. ;)

Lake Powell

Two weekends ago Cory's work paid for their employee's and a guest to go to Lake Powell for the weekend. We left the boys with some very wonder friends and headed on a 6 hour chartered bus trip to Powell. The ride up wasn't so bad. It was a really nice bus. It had tv screens every couple of seats and they played movies on the way up and back.
We arrived at the hotel and had dinner and a fun couple hours of Bunco before heading off to bed. (btw, I won $20 for the most wins.) We got up early the next morning ate breakfast and got on a boat for a tour of Lake Powell. It was really nice. It took 3 hours to get to the place where we were to hike a mile up to Rainbow Bridge. I decided to say on the boat and work on my tan a little. I wasn't about to induce labor by hiking 2 miles. :) Cory said it was beautiful and by the looks of the picture it was. When everyone came back to the boat we had lunch and then took another 3 hour boat ride back to the hotel where we boarded the chartered bus again and headed on home to Phoenix. We did stop in Flagstaff for dinner.
The ride home was a little bit tougher for me at least. See when I decided to say on the boat and "tan" we then decided to stay on the top of the boat in the sun on the way back to the hotel. We both fell asleep in the warm sun. Needless to say I didn't tan I cooked like a piece of bacon! So just the tops of my legs, arms and face got bright red. Stupid sunscreen. Cory was a little pink but nothing like me. He is now nice and tan and I am pink still and peeling like crazy... (I know tmi.)
Anyway, It was a fun little trip and it was nice to get away for just one night and do something without the boys. Funny thing when the boys woke up Sunday morning and saw us home Jovin said, "You're back" and ran onto our bed. Mayer just kept looking at me and then Cory over and over again with a huge grin. Apparently they missed us a little.

'Tis the Season

Here are some pictures from our Christmas.
Our Christmas tree. (Yes we have little kids hence the ribbon and ornaments only on the upper half of the tree.)

A very groggy Mayer but still wanting to open presents.

Jovin, Mayer and Ang opening presents.

This is what I got Cory for Christmas. It is a custom bobble head of himself. If any of you are The Office fans you'll understand. It is one of our favorite episodes and we quote the line "Yes, I'm the bobble head!" all the time. Especially now that he has an actual bobble head.

We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and we missed you all.

Nothing Much

Well it has been a long while since we have posted anything. That might just be because not a whole lot has been going on with us.

Although, about a week ago Cory went on a business trip to Wisconsin for 3 days. Man, those were a long three days for me. The whole time Jovin kept crying for Cory, I couldn't sleep without Cory there, and the boys woke up at 5 am both mornings that he was gone. Let's just say we were VERY happy to have Cory come home on Friday. Cory had a lot of fun on his trip though, steak dinners, golfing, a room and bed to himself... you know fun!

I have been playing on our ward softball team. It has been a lot of fun. I'm not the best player, as in I can't hit the ball, but I can throw and catch. At practice the other night I caught the softball with my face. My chin was only bruised for a few days. We had a game the other night and Cory came with the boys to watch and support me, but we had a really bad wind and rain storm so the game was cancelled half way through. It is fun to play down here. We play in the evenings so it is cooler, you know 90 degrees instead of 100, and we play under the lights. It's a lot of fun. It's nice of the Elders to let the Sisters play with them even though we aren't the best.

Well, here are some pictures from the past few weeks of some things that have been happening with our little family...

Mayer was a little put off that I was interrupting his phone call the other day.

This is what happens when you leave a two year old alone for two minutes to go change another siblings diaper.
