We left last Friday and headed up to St. George through Las Vegas. NEVER AGAIN!!! We got stuck yet again at that stupid Hoover Dam!! It took us and hour and a half to go 5 miles!! That's just ridiculous! Anyway, we finally got to the condo around 9pm and as soon as we got there Mayer puked... yuck. At least he waited until we were there. His car seat still smells like Goldfish and Sunny D though...
Saturday we all headed out to go on a hike in Snow Canyon. I thought this was a weird name for a canyon that is in St. George and rarely sees any snow I thought it was for ironic reasons it was named that. Cor then told me it was named after President Lorenzo Snow. Boy do I feel dumb! That makes a lot more sense. Once we were all there it started to rain so we drove through the canyon and decided to eat our packed lunches in our cars. Once the rain let up the kids went and played on the sand dunes. (Sorry no pics of that cause I was in the car with Pierce. It was too cold and I left his, and Mayer's jackets in Phoenix. So Mayer was wearing my hoodie and Pierce and I warmed up in the van.)
Sunday we went to church and then spent the afternoon relaxing, playing on the playground and enjoying some yummy food.
Monday we went to the St. George temple and walked the grounds and took pictures of our families on the temple steps. We then went to a museum that had dinosaur tracks that were found in Washington, Utah. It was really cool.
Tuesday after breakfast half the family headed home. I (Ang) went golfing with some friends, thanks again Ray, Greg and Penny! Cor and the boys played on the playgrounds and went swimming. We then went to dinner with the rest of the family and hung out.
We drove home on Wednesday. We went home through Vegas, but went to Laughlin, Nevada, instead of the stupid Hoover Dam. It only took 7 1/2 hours and that was with stopping for lunch for 45 minutes. Not too bad. I still think next time we'll go the Flagstaff way. :)
We were really glad to be able to spend time with the Killpack family. The boys really enjoyed playing with everyone, and seeing Grandma. They still ask if they can go swimming and play with their cousins. :) We miss everyone. Thanks for the fun and all the wonderful memories.
