Utah Trip (part 4)

Jovin laying on the couch sick. He did this for 2 days. Sad looking isn't he?

The last couple of days we hung out with Cory's family and relaxed. That was nice. Although Jovin was a little sick a couple of the last days. We got to spend more time with Cory's family before everyone went home or left to visit other family. We also got to hang out with some friends we haven't seen in a long time. I'm still kicking myself for forgetting my camera for that one. :)

Family pic before we left

Another family pic before we left Jovin just had to pick his nose for it, so I'm posting it to embarrass him with it some day :)

The ride home was interesting. We went to leave and out car wouldn't start. Great omen huh? We got it jump started thanks to Mum and we were on our way around 1:30pm. We made a quick stop in Cedar City and then in St. George to pick up a hitch hiker, just kidding it was our friend Ray. After dinner we were off to Las Vegas. I was driving and I missed the sign that told us the exit to go to Phoenix (stupid huge semi driver blocking the sign!) so I was still on I-15 going to Los Angeles. Crap! So we get off and Ray calls some family that lives in Vegas for some help on how to get back to the freeway and in the right direction of Phoenix. Once we got that figured out we were on our way. Then we started to see signs saying that Hoover had bad holiday traffic and we should go through Laughlin, Nevada for a detour to Phoenix. I was NOT about to get stuck at Hoover Dam again, so I took the detour. Well I or Ray, it was late and we are still arguing about this, missed the sign or something that told us to turn to Kingman, Arizona. Crap! So I (or Ray) ended up taking us to Bullhead City, Nevada. (That's almost to the California border.) I turned around and got on the I-40 to Kingman then we finally got home around 2:30am! Whew! Even with my long detour it didn't take as long as I thought it would. We did make it safely and that is all that mattered. I'm really glad to be home now where it is warm and dry. :) We really enjoyed seeing everyone that we could on our trip. We miss you all already! :)

Sounds like you had a fun trip. You know, you could have stayed on I-15 and taken the 215 (which is just south of the strip) and you would have ended up in the same spot. Also, Bullhead and Laughlin are on opposite sides of the Colorado River. So if you did take the detour to Laughlin you would have to go through Bullhead before you got to Kingman (and from Vegas, the only way to get to Kingman is through Hoover Dam or Laughlin/Bullhead). So you guys did not really miss a turn. Anyway, glad to hear you had a great Christmas.
